Shia LaBeouf Is Moving His Four-Year-Long Anti-Trump Live Stream To New Mexico!

So long, New York — Shia LaBeouf is headed to New Mexico!

Albuquerque, to be exact, after the artist and his collaborators — Nastja S├â┬ñde R├â┬╢nkk├â┬╢ and Luke Turner — released a vicious statement on Saturday that called out the Museum of the Moving Image in NYC where the live stream installation of theirs had initially been set up.

In case you forgot, Shia and his team had put together a live stream at the museum that was to last all four years of Donald Trump‘s presidency, and function as an anti-Trump protest movement full of, well, 24 hours per day worth of video.

That idea ran into almost immediate problems with violence and multiple arrests, and was shut down by the museum after just three weeks had passed.

So, LaBeouf is moving it to New Mexico!

In the statement, the creators got pretty vicious about the NYC museum’s lack of ability to put their ideas into play, writing:

“From the outset, the museum failed to address our concerns about the misleading framing of our piece as a political rally, rather than as a participatory performance artwork resisting the normalisation of division … On numerous occasions, we voiced serious concerns to the museum about hate speech occurring at the site of our project, and requested that the museum act responsibly in moderating this and providing the public a means of reporting such incidents. Our requests were not even acknowledged, let alone acted upon.”

Well then!

But don’t you worry — as of yesterday, the group is re-opening their live stream, and you can see it at the El Rey Theater in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Here’s a link to the live stream itself. So if you are ever hanging out down there, or if you were ever wondering what’s going on at the Goodyear auto body shop across the street from the theater in Albuquerque… LOLz!!!

Let’s hope they have better luck with it here than they did in NYC!!
