David Cassidy Reveals Battle With Dementia Following Recent Alcohol Concerns

David Cassidy

David Cassidy sparked concerns that he’d fallen off the wagon after he was filmed slurring his words and nearly stumbling off the stage during his performance in Agoura Hills, CA over the weekend.

In a new interview, the Partridge Family star revealed he’s battling dementia — a memory loss disease both of his parents also suffered from.

The 66-year-old musician told People of his diagnosis:

“I was in denial, but a part of me always knew this was coming.”

And now that he’s finally facing this issue, he’s going to stop touring in order to focus on his health:

“I want to focus on what I am, who I am, and how I’ve been without any distractions. I want to love. I want to enjoy life.”

Cassidy has faced a ton of health and legal troubles over the past decade (he was charged with DUI in 2010, 2013, and 2014) — and it all came to a head on Saturday when fans noticed something was off with the artist:

We’re sending well wishes to the the longtime performer during this difficult time.
