Who is in charge of the Kids’ Choice Awards this year???
There are some serious issues with the artists they’ve selected to perform at the longtime Nickelodeon awards show. As we previously reported last week, Camila Cabello and Machine Gun Kelly were tapped to perform their sexually charged duet, Bad Things, at the upcoming KCAs. And now, the ladies of Little Mix are also taking the stage as performers!
Don’t get us wrong, we LOVE both Miz Cabello and the Little Mix girls, but this is a freakin’ show for kids. Have the producers not realized that the British girl group’s most recent chart toppers are pretty sexual?
We mean, the opening line of Shout Out To My Ex is:
“This is a shout out to my ex/ Heard he in love with some other chick
Yeah yeah, that hurt me, I’ll admit/ Forget that boy, I’m over it
I hope she gettin’ better sex/ Hope she ain’t fakin’ it like I did, babe
Took four long years to call it quits/ Forget that boy, I’m over it”
And last year’s line up was pretty wholesome with musical numbers including DNCE‘s Cake By The Ocean, Charlie Puth and Wiz Khalifa‘s One Call Away/See You Again, and Silento‘s Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae).
Nonetheless, we have feeling these artists will be changing the lyrics so they’re more kid friendly. Or, at least, we hope they do.
What do YOU think?? Is it inappropriate for Nickelodeon to have selected these musicians for the KCAs?
