Well, we can’t say we didn’t see this coming.
The PricewaterhouseCoopers accountants, Martha Ruiz and Brian Cullinan, who were responsible for the unbelievably embarrassing Oscars Best Picture mix-up on Sunday have been fired from working the Oscars in the future.
They still have jobs at PricewaterhouseCoopers, but they won’t be handing out wrong envelopes at the Academy Awards anytime soon.
Bye, guys! It’s been real!
Apparently, they are both devastated over what happened but call it an “honest mistake.” And although Cullinan was blamed for being distracted by tweeting the entire night, the truth is the Academy actually encouraged him to share his experiences on social media. *shruggie emoji*
We hope they’re better at their jobs as accountants than they were at handing out correct envelopes! LOLz!
