Colin Kaepernick Plans To Stand During The National Anthem Next Season… Just As Soon As He Finds A Team To Play For!

Colin Kaepernick

Colin Kaepernick is in for a lot of changes this year.

First, it was reported this week that the quarterback will opt out of his contract with the San Francisco 49ers and become a free agent next week — and now we’re hearing the athlete will also end his national anthem protest in the upcoming season.

As you may have seen, the 29-year-old chose to kneel during the national anthem before every game in the 2016 season — something he hoped would shed light on the oppression of black people and people of color in the United States.

ESPN reports the footballer believes his message was delivered and he wants to recognize the positive change that is already happening.

And while the work is far from done, Kaepernick appreciates the support he received from his fellow athletes, and the national conversation that was started by his controversial protest.

Now, he just needs to find a team to stand with.
