The 23-year-old shared a heartfelt post on Monday celebrating being sober for the first time in nearly a decade!

Admitting that eliminating drugs from his life was a difficult transition to make, the comedian is now “happy” and hopeful for the future. He shared:

“Just wanted to let you guys know I’m okay. I know I’ve kinda been missing, on social media and on the show. I quit drugs and am happy and sober for the first time in 8 years. It wasn’t easy, but I got a great girl, great friends and I consider myself a lucky man. I’ll always be here for you guys, I promise.”

The “great girl” Pete speaks of is Larry David‘s daughter Cazzie, whom he dedicated an IG post to hours later.

Davidson has gotten candid about his drug use before. Last September, he revealed smoking medical marijuana was “the only thing” that helped him live with his Crohn’s disease.

Now, we guess Pete found an even more powerful medicine… Love? Laughter? Whatever it is — we want some!!
