Scarlett Johansson and Romain Dauriac are clearly not on the same page.
As we reported, the 32-year-old filed for divorce from her husband of just over two years on Tuesday, and has since requested privacy during this difficult transition for her family.
Meanwhile, Dauriac’s camp says the French journalist was blindsided by the filing — and is now asking ScarJo to promptly “withdraw her action” and go back to the “negotiating table” to figure out what to do in regards to their daughter, Rose Dorothy.
In response, a source close to the Lucy star insists the divorce filing was simply procedural, and was in no way done maliciously.
The insider tells People:
“Under the law in NYC, the filing of an action for divorce is merely procedural. No request for a judge was requested. While her lawyer did request that Scarlett get residential custody, again, for procedural purposes, they preserved all rights she had if they didn’t resolve the case. It wasn’t a secret that the parties were separated. So filing for divorce is no big deal. This is not a hostile act by Scarlett.”
We would certainly hope not — like the celeb said in her statement, little Rose will be able to see all this mess eventually!
