Earlier this week, Scarlett Johansson officially filed for divorce from Romain Dauriac — something the French journalist claims was a surprise, as the couple was in the middle of private negotiations.
It also seems ScarJo and Romain can’t come to an agreement when it comes to custody of their two-year-old daughter, Rose Dorothy, as each are requesting joint, but residential custody of the toddler.
Dauriac’s lawer, Hal Mayerson, says the Lucy actress is pushing for “hybrid schedules and changing schedules,” which he believes wouldn’t be in the best interest of his client, who lives in France:
“No mother or father wants to be the drop-in babysitter for the other parent.”
Now that Miz Johansson has taken the negotiations to the court — something she claims wasn’t done maliciously — Mayerson says his client will fight for joint custody, primary physical custody, and “economic relief” for child support and counsel fees.
A source close to the 32-year-old told People:
“Her team is just following standard legal procedure when you’re going through a divorce. His lawyer seems to be contradicting himself by asking for privacy but then making public statements.”
Mayerson rebutted, saying:
“Filing a divorce action is a serious matter in the state of New York, period.”
Messy, messy, messy — and this is just the beginning!
