On Wednesday morning, several unsuspecting New York Amtrak commuters were hit with what can only be described as a wave of snow.
The passengers, who were traveling from Rhinecliff to NY’s Penn Station, obviously knew they were going to be hit by some snow kick up as many of them filmed the incident.
However, we doubt they realized how extreme the icy wave (below) was going to be. Several people were knocked to the ground!
See the cold moment (below)!
Not to mention, several people have since questioned the speed of the train as it approached the mound in front of the platform. However, Amtrak defends that the train “was traveling at the authorized speed.”
They also noted in a statement:
“We always advise customers to stand back from the platform edge as trains approach and this was an unusual occurrence considering the large amount of snow on the tracks.”
Huh. Be sure to ch-ch-check out a slow motion version of the scene for yourself (below)!
