Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau Hosts Ivanka Trump At A Broadway Play About Welcoming Outsiders — How Timely!

Justin Trudeau and Ivanka Trump

Hopefully Ivanka Trump can relay the message to her father.

Everyone’s favorite Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau (not to be confused with Joe…) hosted Ivanks on Wednesday night at the showing the new musical, Come From Away, which highlights how a small town in Newfoundland helped stranded airline passengers after 9/11.

Donald Trump‘s pride and joy arrived in the same motorcade, but different vehicle from Trudeau and his wife — and sat next to Nikki R. Haley, her father’s ambassador to the UN, among nearly 600 other politicians and other ambassadors to the United Nations.

According to the New York Times, Trudeau addressed the crowd before the curtain opened to emphasize the importance of countries leaning on each other during times of need (how timely!):

“[The cast] worked to pull together such an extraordinary crowd to celebrate this story of friendship during extraordinarily difficult times between individuals between countries… [like] the close relationship between the United States and Canada.”

He added:

“The world gets to see what it is to lean on each other and be there for each other. This story, this amazing show, is very much about that, and it’s about friendship as well.”

Hint, hint, nudge, nudge.
