Prince‘s sister Tyka Nelson is about to get you emotional over the singer’s death.
As you probably remember, the icon passed away from an accidental overdose and was found dead in the elevator of his Paisley Park mansion back in April.
Speaking to People for their special with ABC News, People Icons: Gone Too Soon, Tyka opens up about the heartbreaking death, and why she thinks the star predicted his own death:
“About three years ago he called ├óΓé¼┬ª He said, ├óΓé¼╦£I think I’ve done everything I’ve come to do. My dad and Prince always spoke in these types of riddles ├óΓé¼┬ª He knew [he was going to die soon]. And he was preparing me. It’s very clear.”
She continued, recalling her last visit to see her brother only days before he died:
“The last day I saw him, we were making jokes. We hugged three times.”
Sadly, it wasn’t until August that the 56-year-old stopped being “in denial” over Prince’s death, but it sounds like she’s since come to some sort of peace with the tragedy:
“He needed to go. He was tired. Instead of crying, dance. He didn’t like me to cry, so I don’t want them to cry either.”
You can catch her full interview when the special airs March 21 on ABC.
