It’s been ten years since THAT voicemail Alec Baldwin left for his daughter Ireland, but the actor still hasn’t entirely gotten over it.
In case you don’t remember, the Boss Baby star left the then 11-year-old a phone message where he called her a “rude, thoughtless, little pig” for missing a scheduled phone call.
Alec and Ireland have since mocked the infamous voicemail, but in a new interview with Good Morning America, the dad of four says he thinks it’s affected his daughter permanently.
“It’s thrown in your face every day. There are people who admonish me, or attack me, and use that as a constant spearhead to do that. It’s a scab that never heals because it’s been picked at all the time by so many people. I think my daughter — that’s hurt her in a permanent way.”
The 21-year-old seemingly responded to his candid interview with some very special messages for her dad on what also happens to be on his birthday:
Happy birthday to the most thoughtful, intelligent, and somewhat funny person. I love you Dad and wish I could celebrate with you today!!!A post shared by Ireland Basinger-Baldwin (@irelandbasingerbaldwin) on Apr 3, 2017 at 8:15am PDT

We hope they can continue to work on their relationship!
