You can’t produce real art without making a few mistakes along the way…
Soon after photos of the two caught kissing went public, Sanders issued a public apology to his wife of 11 years and their two young children.
But now that the icy tabloid blizzard has melted, the Ghost and the Shell director isn’t quite as apologetic for his past indiscretions.
“You never know what’s coming in life. Around every corner there’s something unexpected, and that’s life. You just have to brush yourself off and continue moving forward the best you can. Everyone makes mistakes. I am bound to make more mistakes, and I wouldn’t expect my life to be exciting if I didn’t.”
Having affairs with movie stars is pretty exciting, though we’re not sure his ex-wife and children would use the same word to describe his actions.
While the scandal didn’t necessarily help Sanders’ career, Steven Spielberg certainly didn’t mind the bad publicity when he asked Sanders to direct Ghost In The Shell.
At the end of the day, the filmmaker isn’t letting one “momentary lapse” define his character, and even argues that incidents of the sort come with the territory of being a creative, explaining:
“If you took people off the table for a momentary lapse, there would be no one making art.”
Good to know! Do U agree?
