RuPaul’s Drag Race star Adore Delano is just about ready to “stab a bitch.”
On Tuesday, it was revealed that the celebrated drag queen is suing her management company for allegedly embezzling her fortune. Dramaaa!
According to TMZ, Delano claims she earned around $2.5 million from her two hit singles and numerous concerts/appearances, yet only walked away with about $300,000. In the lawsuit, Adore is accusing her managers at Producer Entertainment Group of conspiring with her record label (and potentially others) in taking her money.
Reportedly, Adore has evidence which proves PEG has been screwing her over financially. It’s said the management group took almost 70% from her appearance fees. Not to mention, Miz Delano states her managers threatened to “destroy [her] career” if she kept questioning her financial situation.
It’s no wonder Adore is suing for $1 million in lost wages, on top of another $2.5 million in punitive damages. Nonetheless, PEG have since denied the American Idol vet’s allegations. They’ve noted that Adore’s accusations are “categorically inaccurate in every regard, including [Adore’s] income, expenses, and PEG’s commissions.”
The managers are also confident the suit will be dropped as they “would never take actions that are adverse to the careers of our artists.” Huh.
It sounds like we’ve got a lengthy “she said, they said” fight in our future!
