UPDATE 8:10 P.M. EST: Ryan has now confirmed the casting news with a ridiculous, NSFW tweet that (sort of) welcomes Brolin to the mix:
The fuck, Fox! You can’t play 2 characters in the same universe!! Josh Brolin was in Sicario and I was in Sabrina The Teenage Witch. pic.twitter.com/AQCRp1aWKg

Ryan Reynolds has had fans in a fervor to see Cable on the big screen ever since his fourth wall-breaking stinger at the end of Deadpool announcing the fan favorite mutant would be in the sequel.
According to THR, the Hail Caesar star is signed on for a 4-picture deal, which will likely include an X-Force movie and possibly a solo spinoff.
This will mark Brolin’s third major comic book movie role playing megavillain Thanos for Marvel Studios and DC Comics cowboy Jonah Hex for Warner Bros. (The less said about that flick the better!)
Cable is Deadpool’s longtime frenemy, a super-powered soldier from the future (who also happens to be the son of X-Men Cyclops and Jean Grey) who perpetually has to put up with Wade Wilson’s nonsense while trying to save the world.
This seems like fantastic casting to us as Brolin was able to effortlessly steal the spotlight from Will Smith as super straight agent K in Men In Black III. Of course, he’ll have to bring all that deadpan charm and more to combat RyRey’s nonstop quips.
What do YOU think of the casting??
