We didn’t really think Vanessa Hudgens had any weight to lose, but here we are.
The actress credits a high fat and low carb diet to helping her lose the 20 lbs. she gained while filming 2013’s Gimme Shelter — and for dropping 10 lbs. in just a month.
For someone that’s 5’1″… that’s a huge deal!
The Spring Breakers star explained:
“When I ate carbs, I would get that dip in the afternoon, where I felt really sluggish. When I’m off them, my energy stays consistent throughout the day.”
Sorry, Oprah — that means no bread!
As for Vanessa’s day-to-day diet, she eats a full avocado a day, a complete breakfast of eggs and bacon, a salad with dark meat chicken for lunch, almonds for a snack, and either grilled salmon or steak with a salad or saut├â┬⌐ed veggies for her final meal.
The celeb noted of her success:
“Since I got back to eating like this the last month or so, I’ve lost 10 pounds. That’s a lot for my height.”
On to her exercise routine, the brunette beauty enjoys taking yoga and SoulCycle classes to keep her motivated and competitive.
She said of getting her namaste on ideally three times a week:
“I looked in the mirror and was like, ‘Who am I?’ It was definitely a journey back to myself, and yoga helped. I don’t consider it fitness. It’s more like therapy for me.”
And as for the super-pricey cycling classes (which she used to take twice a day…):
“Put me on a bike in a room with loud music, and I’m happy. It’s like dancing without the stress of worrying if you look good.”
“I tend to ride for the teachers. I’m such a performer. I love being in front, because I’ll push myself harder and I’ll give the class energy too. So it’s a win-win.”
Feeling motivated yet?
