Tom Brady Will NOT Visit Donald Trump At The White House With The Patriots Today Due To ‘Personal Family Matters’

Donald Trump will have to host the New England Patriots without his old chum after all.

Because it turns out Tom Brady will NOT be accompanying his team on their Wednesday visit to the White House due to “personal family matters.”

ESPN reporter Mike Reiss shared a statement from the star quarterback on Twitter, in which he explained why he had to skip out on the “honorary celebration.”

He wrote:

“In light of some recent developments I am unable to attend today’s ceremony, as I am attending to some personal family matters.”

The athlete will most likely be staying in Boston with his mother Galynn, who only attended one game this season (the Super Bowl) due to her ongoing cancer battle.

So sad. Read his full statement (below):

The players will meet the President in the Oval Office at 1 p.m. before heading out onto the South Lawn for the event. It was questioned if things would carry on as normal after it was announced this morning that former Patriot Aaron Hernandez had apparently committed suicide in prison.

Brady also skipped the Pats’ 2015 White House visit with Barack Obama, noting that absence was also due to a family commitment and not political.

This year, however, other players made it clear they were skipping out on the White House celebration out of protest over President Cheeto.

Devin McCourty, LeGarrette Blount, Alan Branch, Chris Long, and Martellus Bennett have all cited political reasons as their decision not to attend Trump’s first championship team hosting ceremony.

Without Brady by his side, we guess Trump will be talking to coach Bill Belichick about the best tactics to get away with cheating.

LOLz, we kid — Drumpf’s totally gonna be all over Rob Gronkowski‘s dick. (We don’t blame him!)
