What. The. Actual. Fuck???

Two elementary school teachers in Opelousas, Louisiana have been arrested for allegedly bullying a young girl and encouraging their students to fight one another.

According to KATC, Ann Marie Shelvin (above, left) has been accused of threatening to fail students who did not fight one of their classmates, and telling the bullied student to “go and kill yourself.”

After the 44-year-old teacher was removed from Washington Elementary School, Tracy Gallow (above, right) — the replacement teacher — continued to intimidate the student for ousting Shelvin.

The mother of the 11-year-old victim first told deputies Shelvin was bullying her child back in February, and was told to file a complaint with the St. Landry School Board. She returned to officials earlier this month to say the bullying had continued.

Sheriff Bobby Guidroz says police found students were being forced by Shelvin to start an altercation with the victim. One student claimed if she did not fight with the 11-year-old, Shelvin would refuse to help her with her classwork — just like she refused to help the victim.

The Sheriff explained of the forced classroom fight club:

“The teacher promised to fail them if they did not listen and do as she instructed.”

The mother of a student involved in the bullying told officials that the incident had been going on since last October, when Shelvin allegedly threatened her daughter to fight another student or else fail. Shelvin was then escorted off the school grounds, and Gallow took over the class.

The 50-year-old Gallow then reportedly started pushing, pulling, and yelling at the student because she snitched to the principal that Shelvin made her and her two friends fight the 11-year-old — all because the teacher did not like the student or her mother.

Detectives found school video footage that showed Gallow pushing the juvenile student on the school bleachers and stopping her from exiting the gym. Gallow admitted to pushing the student because she felt the girl was too upset to start her testing.

Gallow has been charged with malfeasance in office, simple battery, intimidation and interference in school operation. Shelvin received the same charges, along with with two counts encouraging or contributing to child delinquency.

Police are still investigating the case. Superintendent Patrick Jenkins issued the following statement:

“The St. Landry Parish School System (SLPSS) is aware of and investigating the recent allegations involving an employee from Washington Elementary School. We want to assure the school community that we take reports of this nature very seriously and will do everything in our power to protect the health, safety and welfare of all students. Due to student privacy laws, SLPSS will not provide details regarding the student involved. There will be no further comment on the ongoing personnel investigation.”

How on earth does something go on like this for over six months!? We’re just glad the offenders are in custody and hope the students are now in a safe environment.
