The rappers are known for having made homophobic and misogynistic remarks in the past. Most notably, when Atlanta rapper iLoveMakonnen came out, Quavo said, “This world is not right.”
They later issued an apology on Twitter:
But Katy’s being grilled because, as an ally to the LGBT community, this looks like hypocrisy on her part. And just last month she received a National Equality Award at the Human Rights Campaign gala.
Not to mention her Twitter bio has her describing herself as “Artist. Activist. Conscious.”
