Barack Obama Dated THIS Woman At The Same Time As Michelle — And Asked Her To Marry Him First!

no title

Barack Obama has lived the most transparent existence of any president we’ve ever had. He’s had to with all the scrutiny, including racist investigations into his birthplace and religion.

So what can a new biography reveal about the former POTUS? Barack’s first lady — and no, we don’t mean Michelle Obama!

In his new book Rising Star: The Making Of Barack Obama, Pulitzer Prize-winning biographer David J. Garrow found an ex-girlfriend Obama basically omitted from his own account, Dreams From My Father (she and two other exes were combined into a single character for the sake of brevity).

But apparently this relationship was a VERY big deal at the time as Barack even reportedly asked her to marry him!

Sheila Miyoshi Jager is forthcoming about her relationship with the future Prez in her interview with the author, recounting their time living together in Chicago, meeting one another’s parents, and even their serious marriage talks.

In fact, Sheila says she only declined his first proposal because her mother thought she was still too young at just 23 years old.

But the relationship ended for other reasons; the couple’s downfall seemed to parallel Barack’s political rise:

“I remember very clearly when this transformation happened, and I remember very specifically that by 1987, about a year into our relationship, he already had his sights on becoming president.”

It was this ambition that supposedly tore the couple apart.

She explained that even their marriage talk was now a discussion of his political future:

“[The] resolution of his black identity was directly linked to his decision to pursue a political career.”

According to Garrow’s research, African-American politicians in Chicago found non-black spouses to be a political liability due to perceptions of racial and community identity.

Jager says Obama didn’t ever bring her around his community organizer colleagues, including controversial pastor Jeremiah Wright.

Based on the testimony of friends, they fought about this frequently; at one gathering, all they did was apparently fight and have makeup sex.

One friend recalls hearing Obama say:

“If I am going out with a white woman, I have no standing here.”

Obama ended up going to Harvard Law School, Jager to Seoul, South Korea for dissertation research (she’s now a historian teaching at Oberlin College).

Years later, after Barack met Michelle, Jager ended up at Harvard on a teaching fellowship where, she says, they started seeing each other again:

“Barack and Sheila had continued to see each other irregularly throughout the 1990-91 academic year, notwithstanding the deepening of Barack’s relationship with Michelle Robinson.”

Whoa. Whoa. WHOA! Is he saying Barack cheated on Michelle with Sheila???

That appears to be Jager’s assertion, as she tells Garrow:

“I always felt bad about it.”

Wow. Mind blown.

Eventually, according to the book, Barack chose Michelle, and the rest is history. Barack reduced his interaction with Sheila to sporadic letters, including one in the wake of 9/11.

It’s important to note that this relationship is not the sole focus of the book, which clocks in at an intimidating 1,460 pages. But it’s definitely the most fascinating new stuff to us.
