What a sad situation.

As you may’ve heard, one life was lost after a man, named Peter Selis, shot up a pool party at the La Jolla Crossroads complex on Sunday. And it appears as though the deceased victim was a childhood friend of Nick Cannon‘s as the All That alum took to Instagram to mourn her passing.

Our hearts are just breaking for the father-of-three. While the police have yet to identify Clark as the deceased victim, her friends and family have confirmed her death to several media outlets. Fellow party guest Drew Phillips opened up about the shooting to People as he shared:

“It feels surreal. I had just given her a hug maybe six minutes before the gunshots started. She was probably the nicest person you’ve ever met.”

At first, Phillips thought the gunshots were “fire crackers” before realizing it was Selis firing off a weapon.

It’s said six others were injured during the mass shooting, with two of the victims in critical but stable condition. Thankfully, all six people are expected to survive following this violent attack. As for the gunman, Peter was fatally shot by the police.

Reportedly, the deceased assailant opened fire on the party as a reaction to a recent breakup. San Diego Police Chief Shelley Zimmerman revealed during a news conference that Selis called his ex-girlfriend on the phone as he fired his weapon on the group. How awful.

Our thoughts are with the victims’ loved ones. Rest in peace.
