California Couple Booted From Delta Flight & Threatened With Jail Time For Refusing To Give Up Their Toddler’s Seat — WHAT??

couple kicked off delta flight

Is Delta the new United??

They very well could be as footage of a California-based family getting booted off a flight has now gone viral. While Brian and Brittany Schear weren’t dragged off the plane like Dr. David Dao, they were threatened with jail time if they didn’t give up their two-year-old son’s seat. Oh, and the employee caught speaking with the twosome even told the parents their child would be taken away from them if they didn’t comply.

WHAT?? So crazy.

Apparently, the couple were initially slated to fly with their teenage son, their toddler named Grayson, and their one-year-old daughter. However, after their teenager decided to catch a different flight, the family decided to put young Grayson in the (since debated over) seat. This didn’t fly with Delta as they wanted to turnover that seat to another passenger.

According to Mr. Schear, an airline staffer told him:

“You have to give up the seat or you’re going to jail, your wife is going to jail and they’ll take your kids from you.”

While the conversation is somewhat difficult to hear, the entire face off was captured on camera (below). Sucks for Delta.

Obviously the aggressive threats left the toddler’s mother shaken, as Mrs. Schear noted to ABC:

“As a mother, you have a one-year-old and a two-year-old – it doesn’t matter whether that’s true or false. It put fear in me.”

Of course it did. After a lengthy debate, the Schears eventually agreed to have their son sit on Brittany’s lap — despite the almost six-hour flight ahead of them from Los Angeles to Hawaii. Nonetheless, even after their compliance, the airline ultimately decided to kick the family off the flight.

What a jerk move! To make matters worse, the family’s tickets were NOT refunded and they were forced to get a hotel room for the night. The Schears bought new plane tickets the next day. Thankfully, it sounds like Delta is trying to rectify the situation with the Schears as they relayed in a statement:

“We are sorry for what this family experienced. Our team has reached out, and we will be talking with them to better understand what happened and come to a resolution.”

What do YOU think?? Did Delta royally mess up??
