The Bachelor‘s Nick Viall & Vanessa Grimaldi On Moving To L.A. And How They Will Make Life Work After The Show

Read between the lines here and it’s hard not to be skeptical about Vanessa Grimaldi and Nick Viall after their engagement on the most recent season of The Bachelor

The pair caught up with E! News during a pre-MTV Movie & TV Awards event on Saturday, and discussed how difficult one of them major storylines of their season has been after filming ended: Vanessa moving from Montreal to El Lay!

The Canadian beauty and her 36-year-old former-playboy-turned-fianc├â┬⌐ Viall got candid about how tough it was to find a “middle ground” about Vanessa moving out to the west coast.

She revealed during their joint interview:

“I was and my family was very supportive of the idea of moving. I’m still bringing and carrying on my work from home with me. I’m still planning on teaching. I’m still planning on being part of that life that I had in Montreal. It was a decision we both made together and we’re both very happy about that decision. Both of our families are very happy that we’re together and we’re starting our life together.”

The pair — who apparently takes the opportunity to “discover L.A.” in their limited free time, is trying to make a new go of it very far from Vanessa’s longtime home and close-knit family, but at least it sounded like she’ll be able to continue her work with children in SoCal.

It also sounds like she’s maybe a little homesick:

“I FaceTime my family every day and my nephew every morning but I’m going back to Montreal to visit family and friends in a couple of weeks. Nick is going to be coming with me too so I’m very excited about that.”

Between that, Vanessa giving up the career she was passionate about, and the “middle ground” they were forced to come to about moving to L.A., it sounds like the Bachelor curse may end up being alive and well once again.

Or are we just reading too much into it?!

We’ll say, though: this is FAR from the most significant story revolving around the world of The Bachelor right now.

Let us know your thoughts about this weirdly-matched new-to-L.A. couple (below)!!!!
