Chris Soules’ Lawyers Can’t Protect Him From A Felony Charge — Get The Latest Legal Deets

Chris Soules has now formally been charged with fleeing the scene of a fatal accident, a class D felony, after leaving the crash that caused the death of 66-year-old Kenneth Mosher.

And frankly, he should consider himself lucky.

The former Bachelor star’s lawyers tried to argue in a preliminary hearing last week that the charge should be dismissed because of the 911 call he made, arguing:

“The information provided by Mr. Soules’ during his 911 call fulfilled the requirements of the reporting statutes. Not only did Mr. Soules satisfy the letter of the law, he satisfied the spirit. He gave law enforcement on-the-spot identification and location information and reasonably provided treatment to Mr. Mosher.”

The court ruled that even though he made that call, he still physically left the scene — bringing with him one of the vehicles involved. But considering how a blood alcohol content test (which he avoided by leaving the scene) and his criminal past could have made this so much worse, this is really a small victory for Soules — whether he thinks so or not.

The reality star is set to be arraigned on May 23. As always, we’ll keep you up to date as the case progresses.
