Education Secretary Betsy DeVos Booed By Students During Her Commencement Address At A Historically Black University!

betsy devos booed at graduation

These students deserve all kinds of applause!

On Wednesday, Betsy DeVos stopped by Bethune-Cookman University in order to give the historically black school’s commencement address. It’s said many students and alumni objected to the Education Secretary’s presence at the graduation as they claimed her appearance was merely an “empty gesture” to their community.

Nonetheless, the president of the university ignored the complaints and defended the commencement speaker selection by highlighting DeVos’ philanthropy work and (supposed) dedication to education. Please remember that this particular Trump lackey totally forgot segregation existed and called Historically Black Colleges and Universities “pioneers” of the school choice movement. Smh.

And it appears as though the students at BCU’s graduation had no problem showing Betsy exactly how they felt about her, as about half the attendees turned their backs and booed the 59-year-old during her speech. YASSSS.

Be sure to ch-ch-check out footage from the graduation for yourself (below).

*Slow claps* As you can see in the videos (above), Betsy was forced to raise her voice over the boos in order to give her speech. At one point, President Edison Jackson warned the protesting students:

“Choose which way you want to go.”

Tsk, tsk. Be sure to ch-ch-check out Betsy’s awkward AF speech in its entirety (below).
