We can’t believe such people are near our children!
Earlier this month, Oghenetega Edah — a substitute teacher at The Bennington School in New York — was fired after he ripped off an 8-year-old student’s hijab.
The girl was reportedly “misbehaving” by sitting in the 31-year-old’s chair without permission. After she refused to move, the educator said, “I’m taking it off” as he removed her religious scarf.
Although police said the incident caused injury to the young girl’s right eye, doctors at Jacobi Hospital said she was not harmed.
Edah — who joined the school in January 2017 — was fired on May 3.
According to Department of Education spokesman Michael Aciman:
“This alleged behaviour is completely unacceptable… This individual was removed from the school immediately and his employment has been terminated.”
The Department of Investigation is examining the alleged assault as well.
