On Tuesday evening, White House spokesperson Sarah Huckabee Sanders appeared on Fox News to weigh in on the President’s controversial firing of (now former) FBI director James Comey. We wonder what B.S. they’ve scraped up now??
While chatting with Tucker Carlson about the supposed investigation into Trump’s administration and its ties to Russia, the West Wing employee stated:
“When are they going to let that go? It’s been going on for nearly a year. Frankly, it’s kind of getting absurd. There’s nothing there… It’s time to move on and frankly it’s time to focus on the things the American people care about.”
Yes, folks! Sarah ACTUALLY said this.
In case you forgot, Comey recently testified that the FBI is looking into allegations of collusion between Trump’s campaign aides and the Kremlin. So it’s safe to say this is one of “the things” Americans care about!
Sanders continued to defend the decision as she also appeared on MSNBC‘s Morning Joe on Wednesday. On the Comey controversy, Sarah continued:
“I think it’s real simple. The Deputy Attorney General … made a very strong recommendation. The president followed it and he made a quick and decisive action to fire James Comey… Joe, even earlier this year you thought it was time for him to step down. I know that person after person, including your own Joe Scarborough has said there’s no evidence of collusion here.”
Obviously, Scarborough did NOT appreciate the twisting of his own words as he quickly snapped back:
“Whoa whoa whoa. I’ve got to interrupt. I said there’s no obvious evidence of FBI collusion out there right now and if there were, that obvious evidence and collusion would have already been leaked by now. I also think there has to be an in-depth investigation because it may take, I think probably an independent prosecutor to figure out the financial ties between Donald Trump and Russia.”
You tell ’em, Joe! He further scolded:
“So since you brought my name up twice now, again. I expected liberal democrats… I’m surprised you’re twisting my words.”
Snap! Snap! Still, Sean Spicer‘s underling refused to back down as she boldly claimed that “everyone” has concluded “there is no evidence of collusions” after a year long investigation. Ummm, what on Earth is she talking about?
And Morning Joe‘s Mika Brzezinski couldn’t believe what she was hearing as she interjected:
“You’re actually not telling the truth right now.”
Be sure to ch-ch-check out the awkward exchange for yourself (below)!
