Barack Obama may be cordial to his sinister successor in the public eye — but behind closed doors, he’s just as fed up as the rest of us!
Two of Obama’s friends of spoke to People for its new cover story on the former POTUS and Michelle Obama adjusting to their post-White House life, which includes the freedom to be frank when speaking about the new President!
While Obama has never been Donald Trump‘s biggest fan, the former Commander-in-Chief had an even lower opinion of the businessman than he led on during election season.
When describing an election night phone call with Trump to his friends last November, Obama said of the newly elected President:
“He’s nothing but a bullshitter.”
Yup, that’s about right.
But how has Obama’s opinion changed since Trump took office? The answer, according to one source, isn’t surprising:
“Well, it hasn’t gotten any better.”
Ha! We’d LOVE to hear Barack’s thoughts on the reality show/espionage thriller Trump has turned the Oval Office into.
Though the 55-year-old old is certainly “concerned” by Trump’s shenanigans, he’s still optimistic because citizens aren’t submitting to the Big Cheeto. A third source close to the politician said:
“He’s deeply concerned with what he’s seen. But he’s also optimistic and heartened that citizens aren’t just watching it happen but engaging with neighbors and elected representatives at town halls.”
Sounds like he hasn’t lost the “hope” from his 2008 campaign slogan.
Then again, it’s easy to keep a sunny disposition when you’ve been windsurfing for the past three months!
