Selena Gomez has love on the brain!
In a call-in interview with Power 96.5 Miami on Thursday, the songstress actually got real about love and new music! Speaking about Bad Liar, it turns out the inspiration has a lot to do with her new beau The Weeknd!
The 24-year-old admitted the story behind the song is:
“It’s that feeling when you’re obsessed with someone, when you first initially, I always say the honeymoon stage. I’m a sucker for that feeling, it’s the best feeling in the whole world… You’re willing to want to dress differently, want to eat differently, but it’s not what I’m encouraging. It’s more about that feeling that you can’t play it cool. That’s just what I’m feeling in this exact moment and I don’t know how to play it cool. I’m not that girl… It’s worked out for me so far, I guess.”
Sounds like everything between her and the R&B singer is going amazingly!!
In case you didn’t know, Selly falls hard:
“I’m the kind of girl that loves tremendously big. I just have always been that girl. I will give my heart and my soul to the person that I love. It’s just how I operate. With that comes a lot, ya know? Clearly you understand.”
And as for the sound of the song, she was well aware of her new voice:
“Genuinely I wanted to work on something that was just an evolution from the music that I had done… It’s been so fun for me to try new things… I always want to challenge myself and push myself to be better… I do like to try things that are different.”
Keep it up, girlie!!
