What The Actual Fuck — This Teacher Gave Her 13-Year-Old Student An Award For ‘Most Likely To Become A Terrorist’!

Wow, this is seriously so messed up.

A teacher in Texas thought it would be a hilarious idea to hand out mock awards to her students at the end of the school year… and really just proved what an incredible lack of judgement she has!

This week, 13-year-old Lizeth Villanueva received an award from her Lance Cpl. Anthony Aguirre Junior High School teacher — and instead of it honoring her grades or good behavior, the certificate read “Most Likely To Become A Terrorist.”

The seventh grader told KPRC:

“I was shocked. [The teacher] said, ‘Most likely to become a terrorist,’ and she said my name, and she gave me this.”

“It was not a joke. I do not feel comfortable with this…I do not feel comfortable being in the same classroom with [the teacher].”

The student went on to raise a very important point by mentioning how recent events prove terrorism is not something to take lightly:

“A terrorist is a really big thing. Just what happened two, three days ago with Ariana Grande and her concert, and they’re joking around with this. It’s not something to joke around with.”

Lizeth’s mother, Ena Hernandez, was understandably furious about the incident, saying:

“When she first showed me the paper, I’m like, ‘What is this?’. I read it again, and I’m like, ‘What is this?’ That’s when my daughter told me it was supposed to be a joke. It doesn’t look like a joke to me. We’re really upset about it coming from a teacher. That program is supposed to be for advanced kids. It is kind of hard to believe that she’s doing that. Being a teacher — giving this to a 13-year-old. How is she going to feel when she grows up later on?”

A statement from the school district didn’t specify disciplinary actions for the teacher in question (whose name was also kept out of the news) but did say:

“The Channelview ISD Administration would like to apologize for the insensitive and offensive fake mock awards that were given to students in a classroom. Channelview ISD would like to assure all students, parents and community members that these award statements and ideals are not representative of the district’s vision, mission and educational goals for our students.”

Oh, and by the way, other mock awards included “Most Likely To Become Homeless” and “Most Likely To Cry For Every Little Thing.”

This person should not be around children.
