So far, Rachel Lindsay is proving to be one of the best leads in the history of the ABC franchise, and we can’t say we’re surprised.
Last night, the likes of Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis, and even NBA legend Kareem Abdul Jabbar stopped by to help Rachel sift through the various contestants… which ultimately ended in one dude, DeMario Jackson, being publicly exposed on national television by his girlfriend. It was glorious.
So, here’s what you missed.
First Group Date:
Hollywood’s favorite couple/unsuspecting super fans Ashton and Mila hosted a “husband material” obstacle course where Dean, Jack, Jonathan, Blake, Diggy, Kenny, Fred, and Lucas were challenged by having to change a diaper, strap a baby into a BabyBj├â┬╢rn, vacuum, pull hair out of a drain, and set a table.
Shockingly, Lucas beat out Kenny — and he was rewarded by Ashton totally shading his whole Whaboom character. Thank you for not feeding into that bullshit, A!
Later that evening, Blake continued to be obsessed with Lucas’ intentions for being on the show and brought up his concerns with Rachel during his one on one time. She didn’t seem too surprised by the news.
As we’ve told you before, these two D-bags have a history with being on reality TV together before, and Blake even confessed last night to now living with Lucas’ ex-girlfriend in El Lay. It’s a weird situation, and honestly no one cares. Neither of these guys are for Rachel.
The only two people to stand out during this flop of a date were Kenny and Dean, who won the group date rose and sealed it with a sweet kiss. Awz.
Rachel asked the dreamy early front-runner Peter on the season’s first one-on-one date — and it was the gift that kept giving!
Peter so far seems like a solid guy, and they both have adorable gaps in their teeth, so there’s that.
Miz Lindsay surprised Peter by bringing her dog, Copper, along for the quick trip to Palm Springs, where all three of them hit up Bark Fest — which is essentially Coachella for puppers. It was honestly the best date that’s ever happened.
Later, some serious chemistry was flowing between Rachel and Peter, who got the rose after a deep conversation (by this show’s standards, anyway). Then they made out while watching some fireworks. You know, normal first date stuff.
Basketball Group Date:
For the last leg of the episode, shit got really, really real.
Rachel’s second group date consisted of Will, Jamey, Diggy, Alex, Adam, Lee, Matt, Eric, Josiah, and last but not least, DeMario.
The group was joined by none other than Kareem Abdul Jabbar, who dropped some serious basketball and life advice. It was pretty epic, actually.
The guys weren’t very good at #sports, but that’s okay because we got plenty of entertainment after the game was over.
While the boys were in the locker room, Rachel was approached by a woman named Lexi — who claimed to be DeMario’s girlfriend from back home.
According to Lexi, DeMario ghosted her and then a couple of days later she saw him pop up on After The Final Rose with an engagement ring for Rachel.
Rachel gave DeMario every opportunity to explain himself, but he wasn’t able to. At first, he pretended not to know Lexi, but she pulled out the receipts and that was basically that.
After reading some of the text messages, Rachel told DeMario:
“I believe you want to be here, I just don’t think you want to be here for me. Let me tell you something: I’m not here to be played. I’m not here to be made a joke of, which is what I feel like you’re doing right now with me, so I’m really going to need you to get the fuck out. I don’t like being fucking embarrassed, and I can’t even look at you right now.”
All of us:
Back at the house before the rose ceremony, Bryan successfully helped Rachel feel better by giving her massage (obvi) — but then, DeMario showed up to the mansion to ask Rachel for one last conversation.
Stay tuned next week to see how that all plays out.
