This has the makings of a contentious divorce!
As we previously reported, Mary Kay Letourneau and her former student-turned-husband, Vili Fualaau, are separating after 12 years of marriage. And while the 33-year-old clearly wants to split from the scandalized former educator, it appears as though Miz Letourneau is NOT eager to break up the family she served jail time for.
Drama, drama, dramaaaa!
However, Vili’s desire to separate from Mary Kay has nothing to do with the love he has for his former teacher. While chatting with RadarOnline, Fualaau claims he filed the separation papers in order to start a new business. WHAT??
The father-of-two explained:
“It’s not necessarily what you think. Everything is fine between us. All the rumors that you hear between us. It’s fine. Of course [we are still in love]. A piece of paper doesn’t break someone’s feelings!”
Then, why do it?? According to Fualaau, he’s trying to a get a license to distribute marijuana cigarettes and his wife’s record hinders his business interests. He continued:
“When you want to get licensed, they do background checks on both parties. If I decide to be a part of it I have to be licensed and I have to be vetted and so does a spouse. She has a past. She has a history.”
Okay, so if it’s only about business, why is Mary Kay trying to get your petition dismissed, bud??
It’s said the 55-year-old former teacher has asked the court to dismiss her husband’s separation case, but hasn’t cited a reason why it should be thrown out. As for Fualaau, his attorney told TMZ the aspiring Cigaweed dealer plans to move forward with his motion and says her client hasn’t articulated that he wants the case dismissed.
Although, when asked if this time apart indicates that Mary Kay and her man are headed for a divorce, the legal expert had no comment. In short: this whole situation is bizarre AF…
