Peter Cornell is sorry for your loss.
The brother of Chris Cornell took to Facebook last weekend to share a couple of throwback photos with the late Soundgarden frontman, featuring “first time and the last time we were together.”
Along with the photos, Peter shared a heartwrenching post mourning his brother’s tragic suicide and reflecting on his legacy.
Though the two had an ordinary brotherly relationship with one another, the rocker’s tragic death made Peter realize Chris “belonged to the world” just as much as he belonged to his family.
Sharing his condolences with all of Chris’ fans, he wrote:
“It wasn’t until this week, it really hit me how he belonged to the world. I am so sorry to YOU for your loss. Artists, actors, musicians. We rely on these people to lift us up. To inspire us and distract us in times of trouble. Chris protected us when we needed him to. His one of a kind-ness surrounded us like a suit of armor. He was a warrior and a wizard. A howling wolf and a trusted mentor.”
Peter admitted he’s been in shock since the news broke, and “will never wrap my head around his passing.”
