Trump’s Personal Lawyer Tries To Spin Damaging Comey Testimony Against Him!

no title

Looks like Donald Trump came to his senses and decided live tweeting wasn’t the best way to respond to James Comey‘s testimony.

That or someone held the phone out of the reach of his tiny fingers.

Instead, Trump’s official response came from his lawyer Marc Kasowitz (that’s his personal lawyer, BTW, and not White House counsel).

In case you missed it, Kasowitz had already released a statement spinning the hell out of Comey’s prepared comments on Wednesday, saying:

“The president is pleased that Mr. Comey has finally publicly confirmed his private reports that the President was not under investigation in any Russia probe. The president feels completely and totally vindicated.”

Yeah. While the rest of us saw OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE in big blinking lights, he found an angle in which the POTUS was cleared of the Russia investigation??

Frankly, it doesn’t matter now whether Trump was under investigation or not. His people were. And he asked the investigation be stopped. It’s obstruction of justice.

As for Comey’s testimony Thursday morning, in which he referred to the POTUS as a liar five separate times? Kasowitz employed the “I know you are but what am I” defense, saying Comey was lying about what the President said. He stated:

“The President also never told Mr. Comey. ‘I need loyalty, I expect loyalty’ in any form or substance. Of course, the Office of the President is entitled to expect loyalty from those who are serving in an administration…”

So he didn’t do it, but it would have been OK if he had. That’s the type of thing innocent people say, right?

Kasowitz then went after Comey’s admission that he leaked his own memo, calling him “one of these leakers” Trump has been so hot to get after.

Kasowitz also held a press conference in which he read his statement aloud, though he refused to take questions. You can see that (below):

What do YOU think about how Trump’s personal lawyer is spinning this?
