Well this isn’t surprising at all.
As you surely know, Bachelor In Paradise has been under fire ever since it was revealed that production has halted following an incident which Warner Brothers has described as “misconduct.” Slowly, but surely, more details revolving around the situation have come to light — including the fact the misconduct in question involves contestants DeMario Jackson and Corinne Olympios.
According to reports, the twosome (along with their castmates) were drinking heavily while filming the Bachelor spin-off and, at some point, began hooking up in the pool. What’s troubling about this scenario is the fact that Miz Olympios was reportedly “out of it” during the encounter with Jackson.
To make matters worse, Corinne’s pal Claudia Oshry gave an upsetting update on the situation as she noted:
“Our sources have said that along with a lot of weird things that happened that night is that Corinne was not in a state of mind where she could have been consensual and there were cameras rolling while it was happening… The part that’s unclear is a producer was either watching while it happened and didn’t do anything or, we were also told, a producer was watching while it happened, tried to stop it, and was told by production to hold back.”
How awful. So, it’s no wonder it’s being said that BIP is likely “done” for good. An insider told Entertainment Tonight:
“The show will probably be done. Like, for good. If a producer witnesses that and it’s on camera, she or he has to report it, which is why this is happening.”
Yikes. Still, those close to the situation aren’t quite ready to call time of death on the ABC dating competition. Despite the fact that production for the show has been indefinitely suspended, ABC Entertainment Group President Channing Dungey says BIP may still have a future on the network.
President Dungey explained to Entertainment Weekly:
“Warner Horizon produces the show so we have to wait for them to conclude their investigation before any next steps.”
In short: Bachelor In Paradise is stuck in limbo for the time being. Hopefully, we get more clarity on the situation as the day goes on.
