Not all songs are as gender fluid as we’d like them to be.

Charlie Puth learned that a bit too late performing a live cover of Katy Perry‘s Bon App├â┬⌐tit!

The pop singer performed an acoustic, Puth-ified version of Katy Kat’s hit song on BBC’s Radio 1 — but even a few lyrical alterations couldn’t keep the 25-year-old’s version from sounding, well… disgusting!

While the song’s double entendre is winky and fun coming from Katy, it kinda sorta sounds like assault coming from a dude.

Charlie had the same realization as he was singing the lyrics, and went from uncomfortable to nervous laughter to just owning it in the span of the song!
