We mean, is anyone surprised??

According to an unearthed 2012 study from the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, individuals who identify as straight and have homophobic attitudes are more likely to show attraction toward members of the same sex.

During the study, the subjects had to respond to quick timed tasks, which ended up uncovering their secret, hidden desires!

According to author Netta Weinstein:

“Individuals who identify as straight but in psychological tests show a strong attraction to the same sex may be threatened by gays and lesbians because homosexuals remind them of similar tendencies within themselves.”

So basically they’re projecting their own self-hatred onto others!

The experiment also believes homophobia begins at home, especially with strict parents. Co-author Richard Ryan says:

“Those people who have such discrepancies, who have really a split between their unconscious attraction and what they consciously say about themselves, are more likely to come from authoritarian homes… If you are a parent who really believes your child should be straight, and when you use whatever means you can to convince them them that they’re only good and worthy if they are, that would be very controlling and it creates a lot of conflict in the child.”

In an ideal world, everyone would be free to be themselves!
