Further proof that the Carter twins’ arrival is nigh!

Amid the rumors that Beyoncé was already in labor, Jay Z decided to skip out on the 48th Annual Songwriters Hall Of Fame Induction and Awards Gala in NYC. This was a pretty surprising move as the celebrated rapper was being honored at the event as the first rapper to be inducted into the Songwriters Hall Of Fame.

Nonetheless, Bey’s husband was unable to attend the event and let the Chairman/CEO of Warner/Chappell Music, named Jon Platt, accept the award on his behalf. However, in order to show his gratitude, the social media shy artist took to Twitter to thank the many artists who’ve inspired him over the years.

The mogul wrote:

Does anyone else find it adorable that the 47-year-old can’t figure out Twitter? LOLz. He continued:

Of course, Jay saved one very special shout out for the “greatest rapper of all time” and, no, he isn’t talking about Kanye West. The superstar added:

Unfortunately, Jay has since removed the Dropbox link, but one stealthy fan recorded the video and uploaded it online (below). The vid in question features former President Obama’s speech from Mr. Carter’s induction ceremony.

Awwww. Jay’s mother-in-law, Tina Lawson also gave her son a shout out as she posted on Instagram:

Hmmm. No mention of the twins, but maybe that’s because they’re still arriving??
