Hello, it’s Adele… and she brought cake!
The music superstar surprised firefighters when she stopped by the Chelsea Fire Station unannounced to share sweets and hugs.
The appearance came a week after a devastating fire ripped through Notting Hill’s Grenfell Towers, a tragedy that officials have now confirmed claimed the lives of at least 79 people.
Adele stopped by Grenfell last week to pay visit to all those affected by the unprecedented inferno — and on Monday, she thanked those responsible for putting it out.
According to station manager Ben King, the songstress “just turned up at the station” with some cakes, telling the BBC:
“She just turned up at the station and knocked on the window and said she has some cakes for us. So we opened the door to her and then she took her sunglasses off and said: ‘Hi, I’m Adele’. Everyone was so shocked.”
We could only imagine!
King said the 29-year-old stayed for a cup of tea and joined the department “for the minute’s silence” honoring the victims of the tragedy.
