Andrea Constand has broken her silence days after a mistrial was declared in the sexual assault trial stemming from her allegations against Bill Cosby.

Constand, who accused the comedian of drugging and sexually assaulting her at his Eliks Park mansion in 2004, took to Twitter to express gratitude for the “love and kindness” she has received from supporters amid the explosive legal battle.

The Pennsylvania judge granted the mistrial on Saturday after the jury announced they were “hopelessly deadlocked” after five days of deliberation.

But just like prosecutors — who will retry the case against The Cosby Show star — Constand’s supporters aren’t going anywhere. She wrote to her backers on Twitter:

Several of Cosby’s alleged victims have spoken out following the mistrial announcement, making it clear the fight is not close to being over.

The decision led to an outpouring of support for the victims over the weekend. Lena Dunham spoke out about the ruling on Saturday with a message to Cosby’s alleged victims — as well as sexual assault victims in general.

In a series of tweets, the Girls creator explained why the mistrial hurt victims of abuse, writing:

Constand, who is gay and was in a relationship with a woman at the time, told investigators she saw Cosby as a “mentor” and felt they had a “sincere friendship.”

On that night in January 2004, she alleges Cosby gave her some Benadryl — which she says he told her was herbal medication — to help her relax.

She alleges she was incapacitated by whatever he gave her, and couldn’t speak or move while Cosby was “fondling her breasts, put his hand in her pants… penetrated her vagina with his fingers” and “took her right hand and placed it on his penis.”

Cosby says what happened between them sexually was consensual.
