What a rough week for Harry Styles.
On Thursday, the One Direction alum’s rep confirmed that his stepfather, Robin Twist, sadly lost his battle with cancer earlier this week. He was only 57 years old.
The spokesperson noted in a statement to MailOnline:
“Harry’s stepfather, Robin Twist, sadly passed away this week after a long battle with cancer. The family asks for privacy at this time.”
Although the 23-year-old has remained tight-lipped about the loss on social media, it’s believed he is devastated by this loss as he was close with his mother’s husband. In case you forgot, Harry’s mother, Anne Twist, married Robin back in 2013 — where Styles served as the best man. To make matters worse, this update comes only three weeks after the Twists celebrated their four-year wedding anniversary.
Not to mention, Twist had a hand in raising Harry and his sister Gemma as he and Anne had a lengthy relationship prior to getting married. Robin also leaves behind two children from a previous marriage, named Mike and Amy.
Unfortunately, the Sign Of The Times singer isn’t the first 1D vet to lose a loved one due to cancer. Back in December, Harry’s former bandmate Louis Tomlinson lost his mother, Johannah Deakin, to leukemia. We’re sure the Just Hold On artist will be able to give Styles some advice on how to get through this tough time.
Our thoughts are with Robin’s family and friends. Rest in peace, sir.
