This is a surprise!
Prince Harry held a revealing interview with the Daily Mail that was posted over the weekend, and in it, he came clean about how at one point in his life he “wanted out” of the royal family and seriously considered leading “an ordinary life” as a commoner.
The prince got real about how earlier in his young adulthood, he just didn’t see the point in going through the royal motions, saying:
“There was a time I felt I wanted out … I spent many years kicking my heels and I didn’t want to grow up … But then I decided to stay, and work out a role for myself.”
For Harry, the 32-year-old reveals that it was his loyalty to Queen Elizabeth II, and her penchant for philanthropy, that kept him inside and involved.
And it has him focused more on living well for others than on any personal gain from such a life:
“I am determined to have a relatively normal life and if I am lucky enough to have children they can have one too. We don’t want to be just a bunch of celebrities but instead use our role for good.”
Well that’s good!
