Sounds like this could be good for music fans!
Breaking this afternoon, new reports are out that Kanye West is adamant about never again doing any exclusive releases or streaming deals with one service, and it’s all a product of his fall-out with Tidal and JAY-Z, as we’ve been reporting earlier today.
According to sources with “knowledge of the conflict” between Kanye and Tidal, it appears that Yeezy is adamant about NEVER again entering into an exclusive album release or streaming contract, because he doesn’t want to limit access to his music like that.
Whenever ‘Ye does release new music — and rumor has it that could be pretty soon — the Life Of Pablo artist wants it on as many streaming platforms and music services as possible, so that as many people as possible can listen to it.
One minor problem: TMZ reports that amid his fight with Tidal right now, Kanye may “face possible legal action if he goes to another streaming service.”
That’ll have to be worked out by the lawyers depending on specific language in Yeezy’s contract, but one thing appears to be sure: Kanye is done with exclusives and wants his music ready for the masses!
That’ll be good for the fans, no?!
