George W. Bush was once the most important man in the world. Now, he’s the least important member of his family!
At least that’s what Bill Clinton said when the two former presidents (who are now current BFFs) met up at the George W. Bush Presidential Center panel and engaged in some friendly one-upmanship.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony for 60 members of the 2017 Class of the Presidential Leadership Scholars Program, the ex-POTUSes got into it over who has the smarter grandchildren.
It all started when Clinton proudly told the audience about his granddaughter’s adorable milestone, gushing:
“My almost-3-year-old granddaughter sang ├óΓé¼╦£Happy Birthday’ to [her father Marc] at his party.”
That’s when Bush chimed in with an attempt to trump his predecessor, asking:
“Can your granddaughter sing ├óΓé¼╦£Happy Birthday’ in Mandarin? Mine can.”
Ooh la la!
Clinton responded that his granddaughter could sing “in Spanish” before striking a blow:
“You’re the one who told me once you become a grandparent you immediately at the bottom of the family totem pole. You’re the least important person in the family.”
Ouch. Mic drop!
Of course, the exchange was all in good fun for the grandpas. Watch the entire sit down (below) to see 42 and 43 being all chummy!
