Mario Lopez has a sweet tooth!
Earlier this month, the TV personality began hosting a weekly game show based on the highly-popular Candy Crush mobile game that involves teams of two people using their wits and physical agility to compete for the coveted $100,000 prize!
There’s also a series of in-game events where Mario is made into his very own animated character!
We got to chat with the 43-year-old host about his new role and more (you won’t believe his celeb crush!) — ch-ch-check out the EXCLUSIVE! interview (below)!!
PH: Were you a fan of Candy Crush before the show? If not, is there an app you can’t live your day-to-day without?
ML: I’ve always been a fan of Candy Crush Saga it’s a great way to pass time and de-stress. It’s fun, everyone can play and it’s entertaining since it gets harder as you advance in the game. I love a good challenge! I also like the new in-game live events that correspond with the Candy Crush TV show that I’m hosting. I trip out when I see the “candified” me and my big Rottweiler head! Along with Candy Crush, I love Uber, Uber rocks!
PH: Contestants are strapped in and suspended during the program to play vertically and horizontally. Have you taken the board for a ride?
ML: Yes, it’s a lot of fun! It’s cool to experience the game on our larger-than-life screen.
PH: What is your favorite candy and who is your celeb crush?? — minus your wife Courtney, of course! 😉
ML: My favorite candy is popcorn and M&M’s! I love the salty sweet combination. My celebrity crush other than the lovely Mrs. Lopez is Betty White.
PH: The “Saved By The Max” pop up in Chicago this year was insanely popular and it’s now headed to LA. Any plans to stop by and relive your Saved By The Bell days closer to Bayside High?
ML: I’ve been to the one in Chicago, it was a lot of fun, they did a great job! Might do something fun in the one in LA, who knows├óΓé¼┬ª
PH: What would A.C. Slater think about Mario Lopez hosting a game show?
ML: Slater would love it, I think he would appreciates the hustle and respect the diversity!
