How can a man be a leader when all he sees are enemies??
The POTUS’ take on being under investigation shows a terrifying lack of self awareness and accountability. And while that may not be new, Drumpf going after his own people is.
In particular Trump revealed he’s upset with Attorney General Jeff Sessions, who recused himself from the Russia investigation after it came out he had lied in his confirmation hearings about having any contact with members of the Russian government (he had met twice with Ambassador Sergey I. Kislyak).
The President said of the AG he appointed:
“Jeff Sessions takes the job, gets into the job, recuses himself, which frankly I think is very unfair to the president. How do you take a job and then recuse yourself? If he would have recused himself before the job, I would have said, ├óΓé¼╦£Thanks, Jeff, but I’m not going to take you.’ It’s extremely unfair ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ and that’s a mild word ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ to the president…
Sessions should have never recused himself, and if he was going to recuse himself, he should have told me before he took the job and I would have picked somebody else.”
Trump really thought he was going to have the Justice Department in his pocket!
As for Sessions, he tried to brush off the POTUS’ comments on Thursday morning, but it was clear he was rattled.
Ch-ch-check out the moment he’s asked about the comments (below)!
His little eyes look like they’re welling up with tears!
We never thought we’d feel bad for Jefferson Beauregard Sessions.
OK, we’re over it.
The other two key things Trump did in the interview? First, he made it VERY clear he doesn’t think his team’s interaction with Russian agents or his obstruction of justice charges are a big deal, saying:
“I don’t think we’re under investigation. I’m not under investigation. For what? I didn’t do anything wrong.”
He said his secret second meeting with Vladimir Putin at the G20 Summit was just 15 minutes of chit chat, mostly about adoption — even though witnesses say it was a solid hour.
Second, he was as obvious as a child holding something behind his back when it came to special counsel Robert Mueller extending his investigation to the Trump family’s business dealings, saying that would cross a line:
“I would say yes… I think that’s a violation. Look, this is about Russia.”
Not too surprising he doesn’t want to be investigated. Remember, there’s a reason he won’t release his tax returns.
We’re talking about a family that takes money from children’s charities.
