It’s becoming more clear that Chester Bennington‘s decision to end his life was fueled by grief.
The Linkin Park frontman bought a new family home not even 2 months before he committed suicide there.
TMZ reports that the musician purchased the Palos Verdes Estates house back in June for $2.5 million — and it is, by all means, the perfect family residence.
The 3,956 square foot home has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, along with 3 outdoor decks, a unique nook, and a big backyard with a swimming pool and spa. The home rests in an affluent El Lay neighborhood with an excellent public school system.
Making such a purchase backs up what Bennington’s bandmates said in their statement on his death, that he’d shown infectious excitement about the future.
But as we reported, everything changed for Chester following fellow rockstar Chris Cornell‘s suicide back in May. In fact, the Benningtons closed on the house 8 days after the Soundgarden frontman took his own life.
This caused some of Chester’s close friends to believe his decision to hang himself in his newly purchased home was sudden, as the rocker was understandably rocked by his friend’s suicide.
We can’t imagine what Chester’s family and bandmates are going through right now. Our hearts go out to them as they reel from this tragedy.
