You know it’s 2017 when not one, but TWO jobs are threatened over a single tweet!
The Democratic Coalition, an anti-Trump Super PAC, has filed an ethics complaint against Sarah Huckabee Sanders with the Office of Government Ethics for basically calling for ESPN host Jemele Hill to be fired.
The drama began when Hill called Donald Trump a “white supremacist” in a tweet earlier this week — which, to no one’s surprise, ignited a strong response from Trump’s Twitter-conscious administration.
When asked about the name-calling during a White House press briefing on Wednesday, Huckabee Sanders called Hill’s criticism of POTUS a “fireable offense by ESPN.”
Well, that’s when The Democratic Coalition decided to step in and let the Press Secretary know that if anyone should be fired — it should be her! Why? Because it’s illegal for her to speak out on employment decisions purely based on politics!
Coalition Chairman Jon Cooper explained in a statement:
“When Sarah Huckabee Sanders called for Jemele Hill to be fired by ESPN, she crossed the line and put herself in dubious legal territory. For Sanders to publicly call for the dismissal of a Trump critic is bizarre and disturbing, to say the least. If anyone is to be fired, it should be her.”
The coalition cited a federal law, which states that executive branch employees are prohibited from influencing the employment practices of a private entity “solely on the basis of partisan political affiliation.” Breaking this law is punishable by up to 15 years in prison or a fine.
Huck likely knows her comment crossed the line, which is why she already tried to walk back on her stance in an interview with Fox News on Thursday. She said:
“I think it was highly inappropriate, and I think ESPN should take actions. But I’ll leave that up to them to decide, and I’ll stay focused on my day job.”
But by Friday, the controversy was too ripe for someone else in the White House not to pick at it — the President, who we all know reserves Fridays for clap backs to his h8rz, couldn’t help but chime in an DEMAND AN APOLOGY from Hill and/or ESPN:
ESPN is paying a really big price for its politics (and bad programming). People are dumping it in RECORD numbers. Apologize for untruth!

Unfortunately for POTUS, it looks like sports network is satisfied with Hill’s apology earlier this week, in which she claimed her views did not reflect that of ESPN’s.
