We can’t say we’re surprised to hear this!
On Wednesday, 12-year-old singing ventriloquist Darci Lynne Farmer was crowned the winner of America’s Got Talent. The preteen’s big win came after judges Mel B and Simon Cowell named her the competition’s obvious frontrunner. A star is born, folks!
Unsurprisingly, Miz Farmer broke down in tears when host Tyra Banks announced the results. Be sure to watch Darci’s emotional reaction for yourself (below)!
As the final two came down to Darci and 10-year-old singer Angelica Hale, things were certainly tense on stage. We mean, no one WANTED to see a child lose on national TV. Thankfully, as seen in the clip (above), Cowell made sure to comfort Angelica following her loss.
This year’s competition was definitely jam-packed with talent as many viewers were shocked by the final results. Farmer beat out NINE finalists for the top prize — including fan favorites singer/plane crash survivor Kechi Okwuchi, comedian Preacher Lawson, deaf musical artist Mandy Harvey, etc.
Fans of the show even took to Twitter to voice their disappointment as all competitors had some cheering for them:
GREAT JOB GUYS!! THIS IS NOT THE END!!!! @angelicahale @chasegoehring @Kechi @mandyharvey @PreacherLawson @Diavolo_LA and more….. pic.twitter.com/fUAcjzp0nn
