Amazon has initiated an investigation into sexual harassment claims against Jeffrey Tambor, a company spokesperson confirmed to Deadline. The Transparent star has already responded calling the allegations “baseless.”
The probe stems from a complaint made by Tambor’s former assistant Van Barnes, who wrote of the actor’s alleged inappropriate behavior online in a private Facebook post.
The 73-year-old reacted the the investigation that began earlier this week, saying:
“I am aware that a former disgruntled assistant of mine has made a private post implying that I had acted in an improper manner toward her. I adamantly and vehemently reject and deny any and all implication and allegation that I have ever engaged in any improper behavior toward this person or any other person I have ever worked with. I am appalled and distressed by this baseless allegation.”
This all comes three weeks after the head of Amazon Studios, Roy Price, resigned over his own sexual harassment claims.
We’ll keep you posted as we learn more details.
